Sr Advisor, Consumer CatalogDell is seeking an energetic and talented individual to serve as Catalog Senior Advisor, for Dell’s consumer business. The primary function of this role as part the Integrated Business Planning team is to engage with regional teams to carefully craft the Consumer Catalog within the context of two annual consumer cycles (Spring, Holiday).
The right candidate will have a strong understanding and experience in the consumer PC industry along with an understanding of technology partners and the ever-changing landscape. He or she should be able to take a long-range view of the business and drive to simplify the Dell Consumer global product catalog to best serve our customers for the CSB LOBs including Inspiron, XPS, Alienware and Vostro.
Additionally, they will have in-depth understanding of the global marketplace, retail, and build strong internal relationships with the regional teams while challenging the status quo. This person should be analytical, innovative, and strategic in nature. He or she must enjoy a fast paced, results driven environment and have a track record of success in a consumer environment. The role is highly matrixed and will require strong relationships across all areas of the business including marketing, sales, and operations.
Job Responsibilities/Focus
- Role is global in scope striving to balance Regional requirements with Simple to Choose principles
- Creation and management of a Global Catalog through collaboration with regional PGTM to understand requirements where the goal is increased Global offering
- Be a champion of the Consumer Catalog ensuring.
- Offers not aligned to Global Catalog are understood and justified
- Ensure offers are turned off in a timely manner
- Continue to prune offers not delivering expected return
- Engage with WWP to understand cost trends and impacts to the business / Catalog to mitigate increase, take advantage of cost opportunities in a way that minimizes disruption to the business / offer set
- Work with Cycle Planners & Transition Managers to mitigate Continuity of Supply issues with minimal disruptions to the business
- 5–8 years of related experience in a marketing operations function
- Candidate should be a Consumer/Retail tech industry professional with cross–functional experience (e.g. Product line management, Merchandising, Marketing, Planning).
- Demonstrated leadership with highly effective interpersonal style and strong analytical skills is required. Must be able to engage at multiple levels of Dell.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, ability to influence without authority, innovative thinking, and ability to establish a high degree of credibility with cross-functional stakeholders are also required.
- Candidate must be effective in a matrixed, multi-cultural, global environment.
