Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of technical project management experience.
• 5 years of experience with data center physical infrastructure design and/or construction.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Technical project management experience in IT engineering or computing deployments and experience in data center server hall layout.
• Experience improving business processes and experience evaluating total cost of ownership for new technology feasibility and cut-in.
• Experience reviewing drawings and working with Revit or AutoCAD in data center projects.
• Knowledge in data center infrastructure in multiple areas (e.g., IT/telecom, architectural, electrical, mechanical, structural, and operations).
• Well organized and ability to balance changing priorities to ensure projects stay on schedule.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You’re equally comfortable explaining your team’s analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Responsibilities

• Work with internal stakeholders to develop Owners Program Requirements (OPRs) and with third-party architecture/engineering firms to translate requirements into design drawings for construction.
• Be responsible for managing data center server hall infrastructure design project development throughout the project lifecycle (e.g., conceptual, schematic, design development, construction documents, and construction administration phases) and support the delivery of large, complex projects to address infrastructure needs and meet timeline constraints in data center deployments.
• Help increase the program’s maturity by identifying and executing on business process improvements and developing tools for infrastructure planning and delivery.
• Review design drawings to ensure that construction documents meet Google’s standards and during construction, review, approve, and help develop innovative solutions to resolve construction questions, issues, and submittals.
