Minimum qualifications:
  • 8 years of experience in project/program management.
  • Experience in device software.
  • Experience in manufacturing.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in Operating System (e.g., Android), mobile development, and manufacturing.
  • Experience in program management for complex software projects that span multiple teams in geographically disparate locations.
  • Experience in debugging technical issues that cross boundaries between Hardware and Software teams.
  • Experience in commercializing technical product launches, comfortable conversing on technical topics and products.
  • Understanding of software and hardware development life cycles.
  • Ability to communicate across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You’re equally comfortable explaining your team’s analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world’s most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

  • Review or chase software readiness for hardware build milestones.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Hardware Engineering, Quality Engineering, Test Engineering, Operations, and contract manufacturers to implement new technologies, enhance factory processes, and increase yield rate to achieve the best production quality for device launch.
  • Travel to agreement manufacturers for a timely management during the hardware builds.
  • Collate and represent factory program status to executive leadership, escalate issues as necessary and recommend a way forward.
  • Work closely with Software Engineers across Google campuses to plan for the device bring-up, resolve factory software and manufacturing issues.
