Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in manufacturing, design, or process engineering.
  • Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams with product design engineers, quality engineers, and operations teams.
  • Ability to speak and write in English fluently.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 15 years of experience in device manufacturing, design, or process engineering.
  • Experience working with OEM partners on assembly fixture and equipment life cycle from DFM to qualification to operation.
  • Experience implementing industrial automation (e.g., conveyors, stages, metrology, machine vision cameras, and/or robotic assembly).
  • Experience modeling and assessing manufacturing processes through the use of simulation and statistical tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Simul8, DELMIA, etc.).
  • Experience with manufacturing process development and transitioning new products through a full product lifecycle.
  • Ability to use mechanical engineering fundamentals and statistics (e.g.,CAD, tolerance analysis, DfX, and capability analysis).

Responsibilities

  • Lead an Asia-based manufacturing team responsible for delivering excellent assembly processes through continuous improvement of assembly tooling, automated equipment, and contract manufacturing (CM) partners.
  • Develop manufacturing assembly processes via cross-functional collaboration with Product Design, Quality and Operations teams to ensure excellent manufacturability and product quality.
  • Provide onsite build support from new product introduction through ramp and be responsible for line technical readiness, assembly process qualification, and operation. Work with CMs on assembly-related SOPs, line readiness, cycle time/UPH, process optimization, and line balancing.
  • Assess manufacturing processes through the use of statistical methods and Six Sigma techniques. Define data collection requirements, identify root causes of yield loss, manufacturing process non-conformities, and implement necessary corrective actions.
  • Identify and investigate emerging technologies. Assess and quantify manufacturing capability improvements and technology maturity.
