Business EnvironmentApplied Materials AGS (Applied Global Services) Business Unit is responsible for driving our business of equipment installation and warranty extended management, as well as business of maintenance support, refurbishment, upgrades, etc. Our AGS team collaborates with a lot of Taiwan critical customers to predict & solve manufacturing challenges, and make equipment & factories more productive. This makes our AGS team become trusted business partners for our customers.FSO (Field Service Organization) is one of the main sub-group under AGS. Now we are looking for a Technical Program Directorwho will lead a newly expanded team – FSO Strategic Program Office (SPO) focused on strategic projects and program management.Technical Program Director reports to the Regional FSO Head. This leader is accountable for supporting the FSO in establishing and driving a strong cadence and alignment to enable the organization to successfully deliver its strategy. The role will enable effective communication across the FSO teams as well as other internal local and HQ stakeholders to help drive organizational priorities and deliver the DOW (Definition of Win). At a time of strong growth and transformation of the business at Applied Materials, this is a critical role and the individual within it a key member of the regional FSO leadership team. The person will be a key enabler of the scaling and success of FSO and Applied. This position will be located in Taiwan (Linkou/Hsinchu/Taichung/Tainan).Key Responsibilities:- Expand FSO executive bandwidth:
- Work closely with the FSO Head and HQ to help identify and drive priorities across both FSO and the broader enterprise.
- Plan, lead and participate in key meetings with FSO executives and put processes in place that ensure that key decisions/action items are recorded and followed up on.
- Debrief with leadership after key executive forums to determine required actions that need to be communicated.
- Interface between the FSO Head and the FSO leadership team to drive decision making, change management and actions.
- Represent FSO Head and key Staff members at internal executive meetings that need FSO presence, take and follow up on actions with right owners.
- Condense and communicate financial, customer, and other internal information and report to HQ execs when required.
- Coordinate Between the FSO executives and the team:
- Coordinate between groups and track progress on AGS and FSO level priorities among FSO leadership & their teams including key local and HQ stakeholder organizations.
- Align actions across teams located around the globe to ensure the right focus on priorities.
- Establish FSO cadence of meetings with FSO leadership, extended staff members, and stakeholder organizations.
- Organize and lead Staff meetings, Global FSO All Hands, Strategy preparation & communication meetings/offsites, drive closure of actions
- Collaborate with stakeholder organizations on company level meetings/offsites agenda, plan, attendees etc.
- Integrate activities and deliverables and assign/follow up with the right FSO owners. Coordinate FSO response to actions or assign to the right FSO owners
- Be the chief communicator of FSO level messages to rest of the company.
- Ability to act as a key influencer: nurture relationships, build rapport and establish trust across multiple stakeholders and executive levels
- Organized, structured approach to execution
- Strong tactical discipline; coordinate and respond quickly to requests
- Good communication (written and verbal), organization, and influence skills
- Quick learner: the ability to quickly make sense of and organize ambiguous situations
- Curiosity, a hunger to understand the various aspects of the business
- EQ: the ability to tune in to others’ reactions, needs, and goals
- Strong drive to achieve and accomplish
- Selfless and supportive approach to the role
- Extensive (>10years) experience in semiconductor/equipment industry
- Knowledge of semiconductor customers and peer equipment companies is preferred
- Experience with running or leading a product unit, initiative, or operations for at least 2 years or more
- Experience navigating matrixed organizations and getting people to perform
