You balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, making sound decisions using data, analysis, experience, and judgment, along with a risk mindset. Ultimately, you take ownership for key outcomes.


About the role:


Key Responsibilities

  • This level underwriter typically performs highly technical complex assignments within area of expertise
  • Provides technical direction to management, underwriters, producers, finance, regulators, and claims adjusting personnel. And
  • Accepts, declines, or modifies new and renewal submissions submitted by brokers
  • Identifies exposures and analysis required to underwrite an account, whilst maintaining a broad understanding the policy coverage requirements
  • Develops a pipeline of new business opportunities, establish production goals and submission flow relative to the book of business
  • Collaborate with Distribution, Cluster Managers, and other line(s) of business to target desirable accounts and cross selling opportunities
  • Develops and implements pricing and negotiation strategy, terms & conditions, and deal structures with brokers and clients while maintaining emphasis around the quality of the risk
  • Participate in special underwriting projects as needed
  • Develop strong, long-term relationships with brokers and clients to profitably grow a book of business
  • Accountable for Property portfolio management and compliance to Taiwan regulatory requirements
  • Lead Taiwan Property team for all local operations tasks and coordinate the view of overall market & corresponding strategy to the Cloud head


  • What we’re looking for:


    Key Capabilities & Experience:

    • Minimum 5 plus years of Commercial Insurance Company, Agency, or Brokerage experience
    • Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships
    • Advanced working knowledge of Property products including product features, forms, regulatory environments, and risks, etc
    • Strong attention to detail, particularly when adhering to underwriting guidelines
    • Ability to execute detailed underwriting referrals, including clear rationale
    • Demonstrated sales, marketing, and relationship building experience
    • Very strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Highly motivated and results oriented
    • Ability to work in dynamic, rapidly changing environment, adapting to changing requirements and collaborating with a wide range of colleagues to quickly deliver solutions
    • Willingness to be flexible, learn on the job, and maintain a can-do attitude
    • Competent with analytical tools and technology
    • Solid presentation skills with an ability to articulate clearly with internal stakeholders
    • Advanced level of understanding around technical pricing, including Non-Cat & Nat-Cat rating methodology
    • Clear understanding of local market conditions with a proven ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment
