SUMMARY
The SCPM is the interlink between specific JTS (Projects) as SCM organization and the supplier market; Leading Buyer/planer and Component Engineer to procure all materials necessary to support prototype builds per program management requirements in assigned project; Managing strategic relationships with key suppliers; defining supplier development and material procurement plans aligning with project plans; communication & reporting, identifying and controlling SCM risks, problem solving; Supporting lead SCPM on subgroup management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide supplier (market) as cost guidance on key components as commodities, via GCM and DCM, during the PDP process after reviewing with lead SCPM.
- Identify competitive functional alternatives during the definition stages of the project.
- Work closely with Product Architecture or Project Manager to match Jabil and customer road maps to supplier road maps based on lead SCPM direction.
- Scan for new suppliers and manage their initial selection.
- Coordinate with the purchasing community to structure the relation with our suppliers.
- Supporting lead SCPM on the overview and projects progress management of the unit.
- Following and executing strategies viable for the domain with reference to Jabil’s Strategies.
- Adhere Jabil’s rules.
- Use all system tools in daily works effectively.
- Participate in process improvement and process development within the domain.
SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Cost Management:
- Participating key negotiations for ASIC’s within assigned RFQ or assigned program including component price evolution.
- Negotiate favorable pricing, payment terms, and advanced supply chain optimization programs such as supplier-owned inventory, Just-in-Time delivery schedules, reduced lead times and cancellation terms, return privileges, and EDI/SIS demand communication with key suppliers falling outside JABIL’S strategic supplier base.
TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Project Management
- Work in concert with Global & Divisional Commodity Management (GCM & DCM) on assigned programs, lead the effort to obtain full commodity and sourcing control of BOM and AVL in the design phase.
- Assist in executing the RFQ as appropriate for the program.
- Thorough understanding and experience in the basic processes of PDP to support (T) PM.
- Execute Jabil’s Early Supplier Involvement program.
- Assuring the completeness and accuracy of the different databases with purchasing data and contributing to the underlying processes. (Transfer – Production sites)
Customer Service and Business Development
- Become the Jabil supply chain expert as it relates to the particular market and strategy
- Anticipate and meet/exceed customer expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively. Make program and customer service issues the top priority.
- Represent Jabil’s materials team in a professional manner during program meetings, audits, presentations and conference calls.
- Comply and follow all procedures within the company security and ethics policies.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is must. Other discipline’s will be considered with a proven track record in Computing and Storage market segment. Prefer minimum 5 years supply chain related experience at a major OEM in the Computing and Storage market segment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a design and product launch environment is important. An understanding of electronics manufacturing and materials management as well as a proven track record in negotiation, and cost reduction activities; Strong leadership skills. Domestic and international travel is required (up to 30%).
