Position Overview

Molex is seeking a Senior EMI Engineer to be a part of a team within our Copper Solutions Business Unit that designs, models, analyzes, and characterizes EMI shield solutions for a wide range of high-speed connectors, cables, and systems. As the Senior EMI Engineer, you will act as a focal point in providing technical leadership and work with customers to develop application-specific EMI solutions and provide technical support.

What You Will Do In Your Role

• Work with mechanical engineering and manufacturing teams to design and optimize EMI shielding products for the high-speed datacom and networking markets using latest full-wave 3D EM field solver software and analysis methods.
• Provide technical leadership for the EMI shielding effectiveness and Total Radiated Power measurement and verification process.
• Participate in the industry standards development process for EMI shielding design and verification
• Conduct and present research on new and emerging areas of interconnect and system EMI & EMC design and verification.
• Support product marketing and sales with customer technical support for EMI shielding products and applications.

Requirements

• Proven experience in developing and verifying EMI solutions for interconnects and/or systems.
• Ability to multi-task, problem solve as well as develop and meet project schedules.
• Team player who can lead and work independently when needed.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Applied Math.
• 6+ years’ EMI design and verification experience or 3+ years’ EMI experience with Master’s Degree or higher.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Applied Math.
• 10+ years’ EMI design and verification experience or 6+ years’ SI experience with Master’s Degree or higher.

• Skills and Abilities:
• Experience of HFSS, CST, or similar full-wave 3D EM field solver software for use in EMI simulations
• Experience using VNA & Reverb Chamber to perform Shielding Effectiveness and Total Radiated Power measurements
• Technical team leadership & mentorship
• Standards committee participation & Technical papers published
