Commerce is a fast-growing business for Yahoo in the US. We are expanding and looking for outstanding backend engineers to join our Global Commerce team. Our mission is to help the world’s consumers save time and money - on their everyday purchases and purchases related to their passions. Towards this mission, we are building, experimenting, and iterating on various new and existing commercial experiences in Yahoo. Therefore, we need to build and scale highly performant, reliable, and secure backend platforms, APIs, tools, and systems.

We are looking for data engineers with strong coding skills and a reasonable understanding of machine learning and information retrieval. You will be coding in Scala/Python on the Hadoop/Spark clusters to build ETL pipelines that handle a massive scale of data.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field with a good understanding of the fundamentals such as Data Structures and Algorithms.
• Good coding skills and experience in functional programming, Scala preferred.
• Good communication and collaboration skills to work with people from a variety of technical backgrounds and geographical locations. Enjoys helping people and remains friendly and constructive under stress.
• A proven track record of technical strength, including responsibility for design or architecture
  
  

Preferable Job Qualifications

• Project R&D skills in the industrial environment.
• Experience in Hadoop/Spark/Spark Streaming/HBase.
• Experience in modern development methodologies like CI/CD and Agile developing
• Experience in AWS services.
