Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of development experience within video driver/framework design on Linux/Android.
• Experience with video encoder/decoder, video codec driver, video performance and quality, and other video technologies.
• Coding experience in C or C++.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of development experience within video driver/framework design on Linux/Android.
• Experience with video hardware architecture.
• Experience in managing a team.
  
  

About The Job

As the Video Software Engineer, you will build user-facing products that provide the best user experience on Pixel phones. You will work with the Android video team and related software/hardware teams to define, ideate, prototype, develop, test, and iterate the software products while ensuring software quality through rigid software engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of software engineers; plan tasks and hold code/design reviews.
• Help develop the whole video software stack for Pixel devices, and multimedia features for current and future Pixel devices.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software.
• Work closely with Android platform teams and related hardware teams to land Android features on Pixel devices.
