Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of technical leadership and people management experience.
• Experience in the consumer electronics industry, with consumer devices.
• Technical experience with the development of consumer hardware devices.

Preferred qualifications:

• Advanced degree in engineering or computer science.
• Expertise in hardware or software development for consumer products, with an understanding and a willingness to learn other technical areas.
• Excellent collaboration and influencing skills.

About The Job

As the Site Engineering Director for Nest Bring-up, you’ll report directly to VP of Nest Hardware Development and work collaboratively with senior leadership teams for Nest Hardware, Software and Product Management, you’ll also be responsible for leading all Nest Taipei engineering and site activities.

In this role, you’ll lead the growth of our Taiwan team, and will have the opportunity to lead the enablement of products which will be the foundation of a multi-billion dollar hardware business at Google. You’ll ensure that a robust pipeline of skilled leaders is available to meet the expected growth of the organization and the business. Responsibilities

• Drive excellence in software, mechanical, and electrical design for projects across the entire product portfolio.
• Work collaboratively with US-based leadership teams to help build and communicate the Nest strategic vision. Provide engineering leadership in building strategic partnerships, while also making “build or buy” decisions.
• Lead the development of products, accessories, and all Taipei-based projects across the entire Google Nest family of devices, enabling award-winning and market-leading consumer devices addressing a broad spectrum of uses, features and price points.
• Grow and develop a high performing team to have the best consumer electronics engineering team in the industry, while actively participating in the Nest Engineering leadership team with peers leading our other hardware product engineering organizations.
