Job Overview

The Global Simulation Department, under the umbrella of CTO organization, provides simulation support in initial design phases to ensure feasibility, quality and robustness. The main responsibilities entail project support, development and validation of simulation models, documentation of best simulation practices and workflows and providing training materials and support.

The Simulation Engineer (m/f) will report to the Global Simulation Manager and is responsible to plan and perform simulation tasks during product development process, root cause analysis and product care activity to get scientific evidence and confidence on how the device and process performed in different conditions. As part of the Global Simulation team, he/she will closely collaborate with simulation experts based across our global sites in Switzerland, Taiwan and Sweden, to continuously develop and document best stimulation practices for improving the effectiveness and efficiency of simulation activities as well as building new simulation capabilities.

Main Responsibilities

• Scoping, planning, execution and review of structural simulation tasks to enhancing design robustness.
• Perform FEA activities across Device design, Manufacturing process development and Root Cause Analysis.
• Author high quality technical reports, simulation workflows, procedures and training material.
• Support simulation capabilities development and optimal workflow definitions.
• Collaborate with Design, Test and Process engineers to define simulation needs and verification activities.
• Collaborate and effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
• Document and manage material and documentation database and interface with internal materials and test labs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Master’s in mechanical engineering and/or equivalent in experience and education.
• Experience in FEA Pre and Postprocessors is a must, experience with Hyperworks is strongly preferred.
• Experience in FEA Solvers is a must, experience in LS Dyna is strongly preferred.
• Expertise in static and dynamic structural analysis by hand calculation and/or FEA.
• Good theoretical understanding of solid mechanics, mechanics of materials and dynamics.
• Expertise in polymeric and/or metallic materials modeling beneficial.
• Experience in polymer and/or metal strength assessment (yield, rupture, fatigue) beneficial.
• Experience in injection moulding and high-volume production is beneficial.
• Open mindset to collaborate across geographical sites and cultures, curious and attitude towards learning
• Additional experience in CAD and FEA simulation packages is a plus.
• Some Project management exposure.
• Good English skills (TOEIC score over 700, or comparable).
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
