About Amazon Sidewalk

Amazon Sidewalk is a new long-term effort to greatly extend the working range of low-bandwidth, low-power, smart lights, sensors, and other low-cost devices customers install at the edge of their home network. We believe customers shouldn’t have to settle for connected devices that lose functionality past the front door. With Amazon Sidewalk, customers will be able to place smart devices anywhere on their property and know the devices will work, even in dead spots where Wi-Fi and Bluetooth don’t reach, helping bridge the connectivity gaps around our homes!

Team
Sidewalk protocol is an intrinsic component of Sidewalk network. Our team design and verify Sidewalk protocol. Meanwhile, we certify 3rd parties’ Sidewalk protocol porting. Nevertheless, the scope of work is not limited to protocol engineering but also platform agnostics, wireless technology survey and 3rd party SDK release.

About The Role

The most exciting and challenging part of this role is you design it from scratch, do it hands-on and prove it’s viable. There is nothing COOLER than that you can think and do a brand-new IoT protocol like this. Join us as the initiator of Sidewalk protocol.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Coordinate with internal and 3rd-party developers and engineers to develop Sidewalk platform system software
• Work with vendors to evaluate, deploy, and support mission-critical systems and tools.
• Customize and integrate third-party software to meet our needs.
• Improve existing infrastructure to ensure it continues to meet our high bar for operational excellence
  

Base Location
Taipei or Hsin-Chu
Basic Qualifications

• BA/BS degree and above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related fields, or equivalent practical experience
• 8+ years of software development experience
• Experience in computer architecture and embedded wireless systems
• Experience in developing and designing with C/C++
• Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented programming/design, data structures and problem solving
• Fluent communication with both technical and non-technical audiences in Mandarin and English
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in wireless system software design and implementation of modern communication systems
• Knowledge of general networking, Wi-Fi and wireless IOT protocols (e.g. 802.15.4, ZigBee, BLE ..) is a plus
• Knowledge of cellular technologies including 3G/LTE/5G. In-depth knowledge of cellular signaling is a major plus
