General Summary

Interfaces with internal engineering teams and external suppliers to provide materials and components for company product manufacturing. Communicates product specifications to suppliers and assesses supplier’s ability to meet engineering and quality requirements. Provides feedback on the functioning of supplier operation. Qualifies suppliers according to company standards to ensure compliance to quality requirements. Monitors devices from procurement through the manufacturing cycle and communicates and resolves supplier-related problems as they occur. Develops and prioritizes an auditing schedule to ensure that designated suppliers are audited on a regular basis to ensure good manufacturing practices and quality standards are met.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Supplier Quality Assurance experience (e.g., quality analysis, audit) or related work experience.
  
  

OR

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 1+ years of Supplier Quality Assurance experience (e.g., quality analysis, audit) or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• 4+ years of Supplier Quality Assurance (e.g., quality analysis, audit, failure analysis) experience in semiconductor foundry and/or SAT industry or related work experience.
• 2+ years of experience with data mining in statistical software such as MS Office, 8D, SPC, FMEA etc.
• 1+ years of experience with quality metrics such as DPPM, yield, KPIs, etc.
• 2+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
  
  

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

• Conducts research and investigation to find the cause of supplier quality issues in products, under some supervision; uses tactical data monitoring and identifies possible solutions.
• Performs and participates in analyses (i.e., failure mode effects analyses, physical failure analyses, duplication studies) on complex supplier problems to identify and replicate underlying issue, ensure solutions meet customer needs, and prevent future issues.
• Monitors supplier KPIs to ensure suppliers meet necessary performance levels and reports any deviations to more senior team members.
• Monitors and evaluates supplier quality and manufacturing of products to assure appropriate quality levels for new products.
• Plans and executes audits (i.e., quality audit, new product audit, quality issue audit) of supplier processes and operations to monitor supplier quality.
• Writes customized reports based on supplier quality audit outcomes and presents results to the project level leader.
• Provides timely and accurate answers to customer inquiries and issues.
• Manages process changes that lead to the reduction of quality issues and drives yield improvement.
  
  

Level Of Responsibility

• Working under some supervision.
• Making decisions that are moderate in impact; errors may have relatively minor financial impact or effect on projects, operations, or customer relationships; errors may require involvement beyond immediate work group to correct.
• Using verbal and written communication skills to convey information that may be somewhat complex to others who may have limited knowledge of the subject in question. May require basic negotiation and influence, cooperation, tact, and diplomacy, etc.
• Having a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to provide input on key decisions).
• Completing tasks with multiple steps that can be performed in various orders; some planning and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively; mistakes may result in some rework.
• Exercising creativity to draft original documents, imagery, or work products within established guidelines.
• Using deductive and inductive problem solving; multiple approaches may be taken/necessary to solve the problem; often information is missing or incomplete; intermediate data analysis/interpretation skills may be required.
• May be solicited during strategic planning period.
