The Purchasing Specialist works closely with our warehouse partner or manufacturing sites to ensure that every order is processed and delivered on time. A strong business acumen and the ability to reason through ever changing scenarios are necessities for this position. Taking the initiative, strong organizational skills and the ability to anticipate problems before they happen are also essential for success in this position. The candidate must work well with a team of people who are committed to continuing the company’s high growth rate.

Job Responsibilities

  • Process purchasing activities (example, issue and monitor purchase order, data maintenance, stock receiving etc) to meet customer’s expectations.
  • Review customer orders to ensure they meet the requirements to preserve and protect Sartorius’ interest.
  • Work closely with Planning, Manufacturing, Distribution, Sales, Field Service, Service, Application Specialist and System Integration to ensure our customer’s needs are met and Sartorius’ business practices are followed.
  • Monitor and maintain or update inventory level and ensure proper stock control.
  • Regularly track delivery and share the information with respective functional teams in time.
  • Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to manage information and the timely resolution of issues.
  • To always act in a responsible manner to avoid risk to self or to the company and comply with the workplace safety and health and security policy.
  • Undertake any relevant tasks as may be directed by the supervisor from time to time.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years related experience preferably including a mixture of customer service, sales support and operations.
  • Experience in international trade/shipping is advantageous.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English and Chinese.
  • Ability to prioritize a variety of tasks and meet deadlines
  • A good team player who is expected to work with minimum supervision and make independent decision based on Sartorius policies and practices governing the order management
  • Proficient with MS office applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of SAP application is advantageous.
