Supermicro is currently seeking a Purchaser/Planner with experience in materials planning and suppliers management. The primary responsibilities will be to develop and implement procurement and sourcing strategies to drive time to market, continuity of supply and meet cost reduction initiatives in support of Super Micro’s global rapid growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of materials to support production builds, planning and procurement (including Purchase Order management) to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner.

• Develop deep understanding of commodity market drivers, cost structure, industry trends and competitive landscape.

• Develop sourcing strategies: identify potential suppliers, analyze supplier capabilities, select suppliers and determine prices/spend strategy, evaluate and provide guidance on final selection of suppliers.

• Evaluate supplier proposals and present recommendations that will result in achieving business objectives and sustainable relationships with suppliers.

• Build Total Cost of Ownership models to support sourcing decisions.

• Identify supplier consolidation opportunities that will generate cost savings from executing strategic sourcing projects.

• Assess and mitigate risks to the business. Manage global supply chain disruptions in real time with the support of a cross functional team. Monitor current category market conditions, technology roadmaps and identify supply/demand challenges & opportunities.

• Support the negotiation of procurement transactions and investigation of pricing problems.

• Identify E & O and other material risks, recommend critical course of action to leadership, and own the efforts to mitigate liability to the business.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or supply chain or 5+ equivalent years of experience.

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in computer hardware, server / storage industry, electronics or electrical, commodity management, strategic sourcing and materials management positions.

• Ability to read and interpret product BOM’s.

• Excellent quantitative analytical skills.

• Proficiency in using MS Excel / PowerPoint / ERP.

• Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects with various stakeholders.

• Team attitude: eager to cooperate with others with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
