• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
• 4 years of experience in product management or related role
• Experience driving elements of the product development lifecycle (e.g., product roadmap, requirements definition, go-to-market strategy, or product launch, etc.)
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in computer science, compute engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• Experience with cross-functional and cross-org collaboration
• Knowledgeable in smart home technologies and/or building platform products
• Ability to work with teams across AMER and APAC
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to advocate initiatives with internal and external teams
  
  

About The Job

Our Entertainment team contributes to the mission of helping people access excellent entertainment from home. The team is responsible for our first-party hardware, Chromecast with Google TV.

The Google Nest team focuses on hardware, software, and services for the home, ranging from Nest thermostats to Nest smart displays. The Google Nest team develops, designs, and develops new technologies and hardware to make users’ homes more helpful. Our mission is the helpful home: to create a home that cares for the people inside it and the world around it.

Responsibilities

• Scale hub presence by enabling local and remote control on hub-capable devices across different operating systems, device types, and network capabilities.
• Partner closely with Business Development (BD) and Partner Engineering teams to identify key partners with significant hardware footprint in households.
• Extend Hub functionalities beyond local and remote access (e.g., offline mode so the Home continues to run with intermittent Internet down time, or fully local, near-zero-latency smart home automations on hubs).
• Explore offload computational tasks onto capable hub devices to enable new functionalities (i.e. familiar face detention on a basic camera) or reduce cost (i.e. local LLM vs running the model in the cloud).
• Meet and work with key external partner to enable GHP hub on third-party devices.
