JR13017 Principal Media System Architect

As a Principal Media System Architect within the Media Architecture Group at Micron, you will be responsible for defining media management, architecture, features for SSD/mNAND products.

Job Responsibilities

  • Integrate media system design with deep understanding of system and component
  • Develop NVM media system architecture: translating algorithms to system design
  • Develop media management algorithms based on NAND characteristics
  • Build endurance modeling to analyze and validate media management algorithms
  • Design DOEs and analyze media data to understand NAND characteristics
  • Define media algorithm specifications for firmware and hardware implementation
  • Debug, optimize, and validate media system solutions, including firmware, controller, and NAND design, on SoC system

Required Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of NVM media device such as NAND flash memory, and NAND-based media system design
  • Extensive experience with ECC/LDPC, media algorithm, FTL development, and media controller architecture
  • Technical expertise in SoC architecture for solid state based storage and memory systems
  • Strong analysis and programming skills to create models to evaluate media endurance and system performance, and analyze trade-offs and develop options
  • Deep knowledge of firmware development, verification, failure analysis, embedded systems design and real time embedded systems.
  • Interpret physical failure analysis results and developing reliability failure models
  • In-depth knowledge about ECC and DSP algorithm is a plus
  • Innovative problem solving skills
  • Excellent C/C++ coding
  • Knowledge of Matlab/Python is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and cross-functional teamwork
  • MS degree in Electrical Engineering (or related fields) with 12+ years of industry experience or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering (or related fields) with 8+ years of industry experience.
