General Summary

Job Function

The APPC (Asia Pacific Production Control) Planner is a role within Qualcomm Supply Chain responsible for partnering with external Foundries/OSATs and internal Operation team, Engineering teams, Product Planners to manage timely delivery of product through wafer level to die level finished goods. The APPC Planner will monitor and lead suppliers to meet weekly KPI target, prioritize and communicate the execution of weekly supply target. Proactively drive all executions with suppliers: Build Plan Fulfillment, Cycle Time Control, Inventory Control, Material Requirements Planning, Capacity Requirements Planning , WIP/Inventory transaction and count reconciliation, and planning parameters validation.

Responsibilities

Be a focal point of subcon production, work with internal B2B team, Business process, Logistics, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, and NPI team on any transaction/question/requirement.

Facilitate and monitor wafer-out schedule and WIP movements through Fab, Bump, Probe, WLP, Assy, and FT.

Review the on-going key planning parameters associated with Cycle Times, Yields, Test Time, Utilization, and Capacity assumptions.

Initiate monthly KPI target and weekly operation review with suppliers, responsible for QBR rating/score card in planning aspect.

Review on OTD failure and de-commit case with supplier and take improvement actions on supplier’s production scheduling/controlling mechanisms.

Identify supply of individual product is gated by wafer, substrate, component, tooling, machine allocation, or planning parameter gaps.

Analyze capacity constraints in the complex process routes, identify bottlenecks from different product and aggregation views (product/family/package type/test platform/tech node…etc.)

Daily tactical production review on throughput, OEE, and resource allocations, under-commit reasons to maximize supply.

Ensure smooth production ramp-up from NPI phase exit, weekly readiness check to clear roadblocks in RPU stage.

Inland and offshore material transfer and material dispositions of RMA, Non-Conforming, Aging WIPs, hold lot, residues.

Priority calls among HVM, NPI, and ENG requirement on allocation of key production resources.

Skills/Experience

Required Skills/Experience:

5+ years of Product Planning/Account Planning/Production Planning experiences in a semiconductor company or chip design house.

3+ years of experience with backend planning including bump, probe, WLP, Assy, FT.

Fundamental understanding of manufacturing process and business, familiarity with local and offshore suppliers.

Fluent English ability on speaking, reading, and writing. Interpersonal and effective communication skill.

Strong organizational and time management skills, able to work autonomously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Must have strong data sensitivity and analysis skills, critical thinking and problem solving abilities.

Oracle MRP/ERP Knowledge preferred, advanced systems skills including MS-Excel, PowerPoint, VBA, Power Query, Power BI.

APICS CPIM / CSCP Certification strongly preferred.

Education Requirements

BS/BA/MS/MA in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or Supply Chain is preferred.
