Job Purpose:The Indirect Procurement (IP) envisions to support all CHANEL’s business unit beyond cost saving by creating value at every step in the end-to-end source-to-pay process, aiming to protect our brand reputation, mitigate risk, drive process efficiency and cost effectiveness by partnering with different Business Units.The primary roles of Assistant Manager include but not limited to:



  • Responsible for the end-to-end development and implementation of different strategic sourcing initiatives within an assigned portfolio of Indirect Spend categories initiated regionally/ locally from time to time.
  • This person is required to align with different stakeholders on appropriate sourcing and negotiation strategies to support their business needs for ensuring CHANEL receives the optimal balance of cost, quality and risk for assigned procurement categories.
  • This person is also required to make ethical decisions have both immediate and short-term impacts to the organization. A high degree of interaction with a diverse range of stakeholders is required to ensure continuous alignment.
  • This person will be a result focused, individual contributor to collaborate well with others and be a good team player to communicate effectively to other business units and all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to develop and implement various commodity sourcing strategies to deliver sustainable value in safety, quality, delivery and cost for assigned categories of spend:



  • Conduct spend analysis, define categories and assess opportunities to formulate and execute specific category strategies;
  • Assess the needs of stakeholders, conduct market analysis, challenge specifications and profile the risks;
  • Lead RFX processes for assigned spend categories;
  • Lead price and contract negotiations to achieve the best value from supplier relationships and brand protection;
  • Govern the project execution in terms of managing project timeline, resource planning, resolve issues and mitigate risks, etc.;
Establish solid partnership with internal stakeholders via cross-functional team approach in all strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize business relationships with key suppliers that aligns/ exceeds stakeholders’ expectations:



  • Build trust and credibility across internal stakeholder community by demonstrating required expertise and supports in all procurement-related activities;
  • Determine their needs and goals, positively align, engage, communicate and influence them to achieve desired outcomes;
  • Consolidate and manage internal customers’ feedbacks to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
Manage strategic supplier relationship and performance management initiatives:



  • Conduct strategic supplier evaluation according to the company guidelines and audit policies;
  • Establish proactive joint review meetings in order to improve supplier performance, quality, risk and total cost of suppliers on regular cadence;
  • Identify potential contractual terms and conditions improvement opportunities for re-negotiation.
Manage collaboration for knowledge sharing and proper communication between Global/ Regional commodity leads within respective commodity spend:



  • Share effective strategy, commodity expertise and feedbacks to global/ regional teams;
  • Understand the needs and challenge the global/ regional premix purchasing management team.
Monitor sourcing strategy implementation of different commodity spend:



  • Drive the procurement processes by designing, implementing and managing projects to a successful conclusion by establishing accountability, timeline and goals;
  • Ensure sourcing strategies are implemented and TCO reductions are secured according to forecasts;
  • Responsible for breaking down organizational barriers and communicating overall sourcing trends/results in respective commodity spend;
  • Implement business-specific purchasing procedures on a country/site level with respect to specific functional business needs and priorities.
Measure and track internal performance of each commodity spend category responsibility:



  • Track forecast vs actual savings for respective commodity spend;
  • Communicate actual performance against measurement metrics and the potential budgetary impact.
Support the development of local Sustainable Procurement Expertise and build close partnership with APAC sustainability team



  • Equip with understanding of sustainable procurement principles, develop and foster local insight and knowledge on country specifics when it comes to sustainability and vendor/supplier landscapes; and demonstrate a strong passion in driving this forward;
  • In strong collaboration with Regional Sustainability Team on Sustainable Policy socialization with strong commitment integrated into the market business and in the value chain.
  • Support market direction and drive green sourcing on ESG initiatives & optimize supplier eco system to establish standard ways of working and templates/measurements for TW users to apply;
  • Be a green sourcing ambassador to actively provide insights and action identified in respective categories and support TW journey
Support the IP manager and market CFO to continue drive local initiatives and deliver IP in the value chain of TW business and its operations with the global strategy.



  • Focus on training development, proactively look into area of improvement in S2P end-to-end processes; and enhancing current ways of working with business / operations in related to supplier management, IP compliance, and build a sustainable IP model by identifying risks and opportunities
  • Provide ad-hoc supports (such as performance metrics, KPI reporting, unplanned spending projects/vendor review) to bring agility as part of the business partnership
