Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in developing hardware IP, ISP algorithms, image pipelines, consumer camera, and/or computational photography techniques.
• Experience coding in C/C++.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience with numerical image analysis and image metrics.
• Experience with automatic image tuning related to development and technology.
• Knowledge and understanding of machine learning or image/video processing algorithms for consumer photography or mobile applications.
• Knowledge of coding with Python.

In this role, you will design excellent features and functions of image systems to make Android cameras pleasant and useful in versatile products. You will be involved in tuning strategy design, image quality evaluation and related lab/methods design, imaging algorithm/features evaluation and and related lab/methods design, and development automatic system/algorithm/method to optimize the tuning process. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world’s most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

• Invent imaging pipeline blocks suitable with different camera sensors and modules, set up tuning strategies and required tests for validating image tuning and manage final image quality tuning of Android camera products.
• Evaluate the ISP architectural design and algorithms for digital photography, computer vision or machine intelligence scenarios, and commercialize features for Google products.
• Specify and Invent Google computer vision and image/video processing IP capabilities to Android camera features and to achieve best image quality.
• Work with System on a Chip (SOC) Architecture and ISP development team to efficiently understand, effectively set tuning strategies and propose the architecture.
