Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in hardware and electronics engineering.
  • Experience in battery fuel gauges, battery management system, or charging profile.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in fuel gauge algorithm, battery life optimization, charging curve, and battery management, state of charge algorithm, battery characteristics, battery modeling, battery monitoring system verification, and testing.
  • Knowledge on system power delivery, power IC, and power electronics.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional project teams.
  • Ability to execute work with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.

About The Job

Your team designs and builds the hardware, software and networking technologies that power all of Google’s services. As a Hardware Engineer, you design and build the systems that are the heart of the world’s largest and most powerful computing infrastructure. You develop from the lowest levels of circuit design to large system design and see those systems all the way through to high volume manufacturing. Your work has the potential to shape the machinery that goes into our cutting-edge data centers affecting millions of Google users.

As a Hardware Engineer, you will be at the forefront of developing new and innovative technologies. You will work with a team of engineers to design, analyze, optimize, and implement board and system level architecture. You will also have the opportunity to work with many different domain experts to bring your ideas from paper to product.This is a unique and exciting opportunity to work within the world on power technologies.

The Google Nest team focuses on hardware, software and services offerings for the home, ranging from Nest thermostats to Nest smart displays. The Nest team researches, designs, and develops new technologies and hardware to make users’ homes more helpful. Responsibilities

  • Preform fuel gauge and battery management systems performance analysis, trade-offs, and hardware architecture.
  • Work with a cross-functional hardware, battery, and software teams on battery management systems and fuel gauge algorithm development.
  • Partner with power industry leaders to lead evaluation and adoption of technologies.
  • Provide technical leadership and direction while troubleshooting system-level issues.
