About Framework

At Framework, we believe the time has come for products that are designed to last. Founded in San Francisco in 2019, our mission is to remake Consumer Electronics to respect people and the planet.

Our first product is the Framework Laptop, a thin, light, high-performance notebook that can be upgraded, customized, and repaired in ways that no other notebook can. The Position

We’re looking for a graphic designer based in Taiwan to work with us on a freelance or contractor basis (part time or full time) on packaging and print design work. Our repairable, upgradeable, customizable products come in environmentally friendly packaging that presents an interesting surface for visual design, and the products themselves have a range of labels and graphic design elements that match the industrial design. In this role, you’ll work closely with our industrial designers, marketing team, and e-commerce visual and UX designers.

This is a contract or freelance position based remotely in Taiwan.

Responsibilities

• Select materials and optimize the overall UX for packaging for our products
• Create brand aligned artwork for outer and inner packaging and in-box printed items
• Develop artwork for branded merch items
• Work with the industrial design team on graphics and illustrations for artwork on labels, silkscreens, and etching on our physical products (e.g. keyboard artwork)
• Collaborate closely with suppliers on iterating and refining packaging and printed items
• Review samples and proofs of packaging material, labels, and printed paper goods and provide feedback to suppliers
• Expertly manage time and priorities while communicating throughout the process
  

Requirements

• Strong online portfolio showing your range across a range of formats
• Familiarity with working with packaging and print suppliers on complex projects
• Experience working with die lines and production for packaging and printed materials
• Expertise with typography, color, and graphic design principles
• Comfortable with end-to-end execution, as well as handing off working files
• Expert knowledge of the Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) and using libraries
  

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with packaging or print design for consumer electronics
• Familiarity with QR codes and other types of barcode formatting
• Expertise with environmentally friendly packaging and print materials
• Existing connections with Taiwan-based packaging and print material suppliers
