Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications/Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• 5 years of experience in mobile protocol and world-wide carrier customization for mass production products
• Experience in technical troubleshooting in modem/mobile protocol issues
• Experience in C/C++ and embedded RTOS
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in wireless test equipment (e.g., Anritsu MD8475B/MT8000/MT8820C, R&S CMW500, Keysight UXM) and analyzing test equipment log
• Experience writing Python
• Knowledge in 3GPP LTE/NR NAS protocol standards
• Knowledge of and experience in technical troubleshooting in NAS and Layer 4 issues
• Familiarity with the modem development process and certification/conformance process
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to take initiative, work autonomously, and manage changes/multitask during the development phase
  
  

About The Job

In this role, you’ll focus on the development, integration, customization, and performance enhancement of NAS and layer 4 features on Android devices, working with Pixel Software teams, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and vendors. You’ll be the point of contact for all debugging, analyzing, and fixing NAS and layer 4 issues from certification, field testing, and customers. You’ll also be responsible for validating the function and performance of NAS and layer 4 features for in-market projects to guarantee the modem software quality.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and fix the 3GPP NAS and Layer 4 modem protocol issues from the certification lab and customers.
• Work with global carriers to meet customer’s certification requirements.
• Act as a point of contact/lead cross-layer teams to collaborate with cross-organizational teams (e.g., Android Software, Hardware, etc.) to deliver high quality Pixel modem software from certification efforts.
• Generate and/or develop features, ideas, processes, and/or systems to help product velocity and quality.
