Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience working in Bluetooth software stack development with embedded systems.
  • Experience with programming languages (e.g., C++ or C), and Linux or Linux device drivers.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with embedded Linux and device drivers.
  • Experience with Python/Shell script.
  • Experience with Android Bluetooth/Android Phone.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

About The Job

In this role, the Pixel Mobile Wireless Connectivity team works on Google Pixel products and Bluetooth Frameworks to contribute to the Android ecosystem. As a Firmware Engineer, you will be responsible for Bluetooth software/firmware functionality, creating features on Google Pixel products and developing scalable automated testing to efficiently and effectively ensuring the Bluetooth function readiness. You will help architect new hardware platforms, design new features and ship consumer devices with excellent Bluetooth quality and user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work with different Bluetooth chip vendors to integrate new Bluetooth feature and protocol on Google products.
  • Develop and implement reliable Bluetooth features and algorithms on goal platforms.
  • Develop scalable and reliable automated testing to assess and ensure that Google products have consistent and robust Bluetooth compatibility, functionality and performance.
