The company has offices in the UK, US and India.Remote role based out of TaiwanPrimary ResponsibilitiesAs a Fact-checker, you will directly contribute to our mission to understand and combat mis and disinformation. Our fact-checkers research and write original, high-quality fact checks to strict editorial standards and tight deadlines for a mix of audiences, from the readers of our website to private and public sector clients. We also work closely with major social media companies to moderate misinformative content on their platforms. You will have the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of fact-checking initiatives and to the development of our fact-checking technology and products.Essential Skills And ExperienceFluent in Mandarin and EnglishExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong English and Mandarin language copy-writing skillsStrong analytical skills, with the ability to remain impartial and critical while writing on complex and sensitive topics.A strong understanding of the political and media landscape in the APAC region with special focus on China and its neighbourhood.The ability to work well to tight deadlinesA keen eye for detailThe ability to grasp new and complicated information quicklyDesirable Skills And ExperienceProfessional newsroom, fact-checking, or other editorial experienceFamiliarity with fact-checking skills and techniques and/or Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) techniquesA master’s degree in any arts, humanities, or STEM fieldExpertise in a complementary discipline or subject (e.g. Economics, Politics, International Relations, Public Health, National Security)Benefits
