In 2021–22 we reached 650 million people.PayGrade : 7 | Contract Type – Fixed term 1 year | Location – British Trade and Cultural Office, Taipei, TaiwanLocal Direct Hire: Applications are welcomed from candidates currently in this location with a natural right to work.Role PurposeThe role purpose of Examinations Business Development Manager (Schools) in the British Council Taiwan is to To lead the go to market planning, sales and account management of assessment (English language and UK curriculum) and develop education reform opportunities in the Northeast Asia cluster, primarily focusing in Private and English Language School and Higher Education sectors. The postholder will be responsible for the development and delivery of recognition, a distributor network and a direct sales plan which builds the profile of the British Council as an authority in learning and assessment and drives income and impact in the Northeast Asia cluster, especially in Taiwan and Korea..Main Accountabilities But Not Limited To The Following
  • Develop and execute the new assessment portfolio business development plan for the Schools and Higher Education markets in Northeast Asia cluster, especially Taiwan and
Korea, positioning the British Council as the go to partner for assessment and supporting its World Authority status.
  • Build and maintain excellent direct relationships with external stakeholders as required to win recognition for products at governmental and institutional level and secure contracts
with institutions to achieve volume and income.
  • Develop a network of channel partners for sales of assessment products, ensuring requisite levels of risk management and governance.
  • Manage clients, channel partners and suppliers to agreed standards.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to ensure sufficient awareness and lead generation to deliver volume targets.
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with internal partners and stakeholders within the Northeast Cluster, especially in Taiwan and Korea across Exams Operations,
Marketing and English.
  • Collect market data and insight to feed into the subsequent market development /outreach plan
Role Specific Skill, Knowledge And ExperienceDemonstrable experience, in large complex international organisation of:
  • Record of experience working with direct relationship building with senior managers in government and education.
  • Record of experience with sales and marketing.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and managing relationships to achieve business growth.
  • Track record of direct relationship building with senior managers to raise the profile of an organisation or product.
  • Evidence of work across marketing and business development to successfully drive sales.
Person Specification
  • First degree in a Business Marketing relevant field
  • Relevant professional qualification (desirable)
  • English C1 level or above
  • Confidence and clarity in communication both with internal and external managers and stakeholders
  • Selling and influencing with senior managers, evidenced by a record of significant business wins
  • Managing long-term relationships with external stakeholders
