Job Description:Director, International Business DevelopmentBloom Energy faces an unprecedented opportunity to change the world and the way energy is generated and delivered. Bloom’s Energy Server, delivers highly reliable and resilient, always-on electric power that is clean, cost-effective, and ideal for micro grid applications. We are helping our customers power their operations without disruption or combustion. We are looking for a Director, International Business Developmentto join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. You will use your connections, our existing customers and your experience with commercializing companies to develop commercial strategy, drive new business and commercial growth.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative market analysis including prioritizing potential international markets, segments and customers
- Identify and engage with utilities and new strategic partners
- Work cross functionally and collaboratively with Bloom’s sales and marketing teams
- Develop individual business plans for each country
- Administer and develop initiatives to increase sales and market activities
- Manage and develop processes that are aligned with country government regulations
- Primarily a value based, solution oriented (HW/SW/SVCS) sales history versus transactional.
- Demonstrated ability to operate successfully at the C-Level of multi-billion dollar companies and develop relationships at the executive level within accounts.
- Experience with energy project sales and technology, including familiarity with PPA and lease structures, communicating and negotiating contract provisions and integration with third party solutions.
- Proven ability to climb the stack and work downwards into key stakeholders for multi-level sales
- Able to travel as required in order to cover a large geographic area.
- Demonstrated ability to close multi-million dollar projects (>$10M).
- Demonstrated success having carried a multi-million dollar individual quota selling direct to F500.
- Demonstrated ability to exceed sales goals, selling capital equipment, into large accounts.
- Skilled in Consultative Selling and Technical Sales.
- Passionate about our customers, solution, and cross-functional team work.
- Finance acumen and ability to overcome pricing arguments via Value Proposition and TCO selling.
- 20+ years of business development experience, preferably in the energy sector
- Excellent communication skills – both written and oral
- Strong analytical and financial skills
- Ability to take complicated technical concepts and translate to a general audience in a compelling, succinct manner
- A willingness to travel
- Drive for quick results with vision to see how long term strategies must unfold
- Bachelor degree required in any of the following engineering, business management, economics, technology, MBA is preferred.
- Person must have ability to act independently and operate with a passion and appreciation for the vision and mission of the company
