Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in embedded/consumer system design, hardware architecture, board design, board bring-up, mechanical engineering, product design, New Product Introduction (NPI), or product shipment.
  • Experience with hardware product development process, from concept to manufacturing at Contract Manufacturers/Original Design Manufacturers.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in consumer electronics, hardware bring-up, and high volume manufacturing.
  • Experience with hardware modules (e.g., cameras, displays, and audio systems).
  • Experience with electrical architecture, mobile SoCs, FPGA, PCB development, digital interfaces, analog, or power.
  • Ability to influence decision makers and stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

About The Job

In this role, you will work with the executive leadership team to understand and agree on the program intent. You will ensure the product has the appropriate enablers to meet quality, volume and cost goals, explain to executive teams how the product is going to meet goals, provide a technical view on the program. You’ll also represent and articulate any issues clearly with supporting data, ensuring the team has the required resources, and manage and balance the requirements between Features, Design, Manufacturability, Volume, Quality, Resource trade-offs, Cost, Availability, Risk.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with suppliers, help Product and Device Leadership teams evaluate engineering and product definition trade-offs.
  • Drive key decision-making efforts regarding feature trade-offs and risks. Oversee hardware engineering development of a new device or tracker project, manage strategic engineering initiatives.
  • Enable the team to deliver a product that meets all company strategic requirements. Reduce imposed changes in direction and avoid unnecessary activities.
  • Validate decisions made by the team, stand behind those decisions, and take responsibility.
  • Ensure the decisions are made with a focus on the company mission. Ensure there is a clear strategy and the product team is set up to get aligned to the same strategic goals.
