Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Electrical/ Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, EHS, Architecture, Organizational Design, related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in a construction/high-tech environment and have a good working knowledge of local EHS legislations around construction.
• Experience managing the end to end project/product lifecycle.
• Experience leading cross-functional process improvements.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Construction management.
• 10 years of construction or equivalent industry EHS related experience
• Experience with Electrical Safety in the Workplace such as the Taiwanes equivalent standards to US NFPA 70E
• Knowledge of data center structural, electrical, mechanical and controls equipment.
• Passion towards Zero Harm and Commitment to Legal Compliance

About The Job

Google Data Centers (GDC) makes up one of the largest and most powerful computing infrastructures on the planet. As GDC is planning for the next wave of data center growth, it has built a best in class EHS program to scale compliance and safety excellence construction, commissioning, deployment and operations of data centers. As a member of the DC-EHS team, you will be responsible for supporting the construction EHS program and team. You will play a critical role in ensuring all EHS issues are identified and addressed by working collaboratively with a cross functional team of GDC departments and contractors to protect Google’s interests.

As this role will also be responsible for mega campuses (multi building/ multi locations) Data Center Construction Program, you’ll work directly with general contractors, electrical/mechanical trades and organizations, key integrators, fabricators, and commissioning agents to improve our EHS performance on our construction projects. You will engage in pre-qualification evaluations of potential vendors, update the project manual, communicate quality standards and EHS expectations. You’ll be involved in project planning/tracking, risk mitigation and on-time delivery. You will also serve as an interface to the process excellence and information technology teams who will depend on your project portfolio for best practices, establishing data feeds, fashioning metrics, and capturing lessons learned to help the organization scale efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the EHS programs for data center construction at Taiwanese campuses and be an EHS advisor to Google stakeholders.
• Ensure that contractors deliver quality services and that problems are identified and properly corrected quickly.
• Bring ideas to the Data Center EHS Construction team and develop creative approaches to improve performance and efficiency.
• Responsible for identifying and mitigating environmental and safety risks at construction sites, as well as the transition from design to construction to operational activities.
• Drive a culture that embraces a continuous learning approach that improves project efficiency/productivity and Safety .
