The candidate would be responsible for managing ODMs and driving the technical relationship to manufacture new camera hardware, and its associated Manufacturing Firmware(FW) and Manufacturing Machine Software(SW). As part of managing manufacturing the HW, and supervising the FW and SW, the candidate will be responsible for facilitating the debugging of any technical issues that arise including, but not limited to, managing creating custom HW testers. The candidate would be expected to work closely with our ODM and component partners to output EVB, EVT, DVT, PVT, and MP builds of the product. We want an energized and motivated individual who can use their big brain and past experiences (both good and bad!) to help us make category-leading IP cameras that have great security while providing amazing experiences and value for our customers.Who We’re Looking ForThe range of disciplines and experiences represented at Afero is broad and deep, and everyone on the team contributes a distinct perspective.   • Provide engineering technical management expertise scheduling and guiding in the manufacturing and test of secure IP cameras
  • Have a deep knowledge and understanding of manufacturing smartphones, action cameras, and/or IP Cameras
  • Manage the technical steps to complete and exit every HW build
  • Be a subject matter expert on manufacturing and production line debugging
  • Manage requesting prototypes from ODM and shipping to the United States, Europe, and Asia
  • Support ODM vetting process including visits to manufacturing sites
  • Mitigate Schedule Risk and drive integration between Afero Engineering, Customers, and ODMs deliverables
  • Be able to travel internationally

Candidates should have the following at a minimum:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in electrical, electronic, or mechanical engineering, or computer science
  • 5 years of relevant work experience as an EPM or TPM manufacturing consumer or commercial products in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional New Product Introduction (NPI) experience with consumer cameras or equivalent digital imaging - with at least one product shipped
  • Real world experience working with ODMs and component vendors to negotiate support needed to complete projects on time and within budget
  • Demonstrated experience shipping millions of units of consumer products
  • Experience managing per-device calibration and data collection at the manufacturing line
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner with a thorough attention to detail
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin

The following skills and experiences are also valued:
  • Advanced degree relevant to manufacturing or engineering
  • Knowledge of the following: Video and Audio Compression Standards (H.264/H.265/VP9/AV1) and Optics
  • Working knowledge of CMOS image sensors and SW management of their interfaces
  • Direct experience with high-speed communication between Imaging Chips and SoCs (eg
  • MIPI-CSI, LVDS)
  • Experience collecting, manipulating and displaying 10 million data points (or more)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • PMP or equivalent is a plus
