General Summary

Interfaces with internal engineering teams and external suppliers to provide materials and components for company product manufacturing. Communicates product specifications to suppliers and assesses supplier’s ability to meet engineering and quality requirements. Provides feedback on the functioning of supplier operation. Qualifies suppliers according to company standards to ensure compliance to quality requirements. Monitors devices from procurement through the manufacturing cycle and communicates and resolves supplier-related problems as they occur. Develops and prioritizes an auditing schedule to ensure that designated suppliers are audited on a regular basis to ensure good manufacturing practices and quality standards are met.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of Supplier Quality Assurance experience (e.g., quality analysis, audit) or related work experience.
  
  

OR

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Supplier Quality Assurance experience (e.g., quality analysis, audit) or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Supplier Quality Assurance experience (e.g., quality analysis, audit) or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• 8+ years of Supplier Quality Assurance (e.g., quality analysis, audit, failure analysis) experience in semiconductor foundry and/or SAT industry or related work experience.
• 2+ years of experience with data mining in statistical software such as MS Office, 8D, SPC, FMEA etc.
• 2+ years of experience with quality metrics such as DPPM, yield, KPIs, etc.
• 3+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
• 3+ years of experience with project management including managing schedules, identifying and mitigating risk, etc.
  
  

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

• Conducts formal root cause analysis to find the cause of supplier quality issues in products that may involve multiple groups or processes; identifies solutions to novel and complex issues. Leads cross-functional team investigation.
• Performs and monitors analyses (i.e., failure mode effects analyses, physical failure analyses, duplication studies) on the most complex supplier problems to identify and replicate underlying issue, ensure solutions meet customer needs, and prevent future issues.
• Participates in the creation of strategies related to supplier KPIs and reports any observed deviations to more senior members.
• Provides recommendations in the maintenance of supplier quality and manufacturing of products to assure appropriate quality levels for new products.
• Identifies quality risks associated with new process technologies.
• Leads audits (i.e., quality audit, new product audit, quality issue audit) of supplier processes and operations to monitor supplier quality.
• Writes complex reports based on complicated audits and presents results to project level executives.
• Provides timely and accurate answers to complex customer inquiries and issues.
• Initiates process improvement to reduce quality issues and drives yield improvement for a single supplier.

• Working independently with little supervision.
• Making decisions that are moderate in impact; errors may have financial impact or effect on projects, operations, or customer relationships; errors may require involvement beyond immediate work group to correct.
• Using verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels. May require strong negotiation and influence, communication to large groups or high-level constituents.
• Having a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to provide input on key decisions).
• Completing tasks that do not have defined steps; simultaneous use of multiple mental abilities is generally required to determine the best approach; mistakes may result in significant rework.
• Exercising substantial creativity to innovate new processes, procedures, or work products within guidelines or to achieve established objectives.
• Using deductive and inductive problem solving; multiple approaches may be taken/necessary to solve the problem; often information is missing or conflicting; advanced data analysis and interpretation skills are required.
• Occasionally participates in strategic planning within own area affecting immediate operations.
