Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in program/project management developing consumer electronics products through the entire lifecycle with cross-functional teams.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in consumer electronics and preferably wearables module development.
  • Experience with Electrical Engineering schematic design, program management, project management, professional services and/or engineering management.
  • Knowledge of hardware development and manufacturing processes, vendor relations, and Contract Manufacturers (CM) in Asia.
  • Ability to be a creative thinker, team player, and lead technical teams, cross-functional groups and vendors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally as needed.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You’re equally at home explaining your team’s analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

Responsibilities

  • Autonomously manage development of hardware modules and drive the overall tactical execution and strategy of the team for one or more systems.
  • Lead a cross-functional team to execute tactical solutions to technology development risks and issues to meet system build milestones, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Develop and manage hardware module schedules and resource needs with engineering and operations teams, and communicate project status to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Interface between vendors and cross functional engineering and operations teams driving builds and managing hardware module schedules, budgets, and performance.
  • Lead module sub-system development builds at one or more vendors, and manage the budgets for module development.
