Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of relevant experience, including development, testing, and deployment of embedded systems
  • Experience in Android HAL, Kernel device drivers development, and working on embedded systems software or firmware development
  • Experience in C or C++ programming

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience working with Quality Assurance
  • Understanding of Android framework
  • Familiarity with low level systems interacting with hardware/sensors

This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop drivers and other features to bring the best biometric authentication experience on Pixel devices
  • Work on next generation biometric sensor projects, memory, power, and performance optimization
  • Evaluation of new sensor parts and sensing technologies
  • Collaborate with internal (hardware/framework/UX) and external partners to land innovative sensing experiences on the Pixel phones
  • Debugging system software issues
