General Summary
Leverages an understanding of manufacturing and supply chain processes and procedures (e.g., demand metrics, supply levels, customer pushout) to analyze, report, and resolve supply planning activities. Monitors the schedule, and scope of product(s). Manages the demand signal by using the Demand Statement and other reports to plan, schedule, and monitor the movement of material through the manufacturing production cycle.
The Responsibilities Of This Role Include
- Works under some supervision.
- Decisions are moderate in nature. Errors are detected and corrected with relatively minor financial impact or effect on projects, operations, or customer relationships. May require involvement beyond immediate work group to correct.
- Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey basic, routine factual information about day-to-day activities to others who are fully knowledgeable in the subject area.
- Most tasks require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; some planning and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively; mistakes may result in some rework.
- Creativity is needed to draft original documents, imagery, or work products within established guidelines.
- Deductive and inductive problem solving is required; multiple approaches may be taken/necessary to solve the problem; often information is missing or incomplete; intermediate data analysis/interpretation skills may be required.
- Does not provide supervision to others.
- Has no influence over key organizational decisions.
- Does not have financial accountability.
- Does not have a role in strategic planning.
- Prepares reports (e.g., customer attach rates, supply chain briefs) for stakeholder and management review based on an advanced understanding of supply chain processes and interdependencies.
- Meets complex end-to-end product supply commitments (e.g., supply levels, pull-in/push-outs) according to forecast and sales orders.
- Creates and manages demand signal plans and estimates that are aligned with business unit objectives for products or technology according to the Demand Statement and customer ship metrics.
- Plans, schedules, and monitors material to optimize ordering for customers including meeting changing demands or product needs.
- Manages an expansive supply base and ensures supplier fulfills deliveries according to the production schedule.
- Researches, evaluates, and prepares complex reports to support procurement, product business plans, trend assessments and product availability.
- Processes and reviews complex purchase requisitions, change orders and coordinates purchasing activities with multiple business units to maintain inventory at planned levels.
- Collaborates with individuals within other functions, to complete project work.
- Identifies supply chain issues and implements next steps and initiatives to resolve issues; identifies associated risks to senior leadership.
- Makes decisions as it pertains to one’s own area of work; provides feedback on decisions made outside own area.
- Manages individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Adapts to significant changes and setbacks in order to manage pressure and meet deadlines.
The foundry planner is a role within Supply Management responsible for working with the foundries, SATs and U.S. based planners to manage timely delivery of products through wafer level stages of completion. The foundry planner will drive, monitor, prioritize and communicate the execution of weekly supplies requirements. The foundry planner will also review on-going changes of key planning parameters associated with Cycle Times (DPMLs), Lead Times, Yields, and Capacity
Responsibilities & Minimum Qualifications
- Tool bottleneck, throughput, cycle time (DPML) and lead time tracking and monitoring
- Weekly/Daily on time fab out tracking and monitoring of wafer/lot moves per day, per process, and per tool
- In-line WIP tracking, equipment availability, Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) and compare to committed output
- Manage on prioritize Hold Lots (Material Review Board) and dispatch system
- Facilitate and monitor wafer starts /fab outs and WIP movements to meet requirements
- Monitor supplier available capacities and supplier build ahead activities through fab and backend
- Coordination and alignment of planning parameters
- Proactively drive execution of priority mins actions and prioritization activities
- Ensure item level prioritization request execution
- Capacity prioritization and consumption execution alignment to plan
- Option/tradeoff identification and communication to support constraint-based scenario planning activities
- + years experience in high tech production planning or manufacturing environment
- Microsoft Office suite with advanced Excel experience including macros, relational database querying, and linear programming
- In-depth knowledge of MES and Fab Monitoring Tools (e.g. Fab3000, FACTORY works, Fab Time, etc.)
- Command of key planning concepts
- APICS CPIM certification
- Ability to assimilate large data sets and manage complexity
- Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day.
- Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely.

2+ years Supply Chain, Product Planning or related work experience.
