Expansion of an existing OSD/Tabletting facility – Implementation of a new line

Duties / Responsibilities

• Institute and apply best engineering practices to ensure effective preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance. Maintaining continued operations with minimal down time and uninterrupted plant operations
• Develop cost and obtain funding for individual projects; utilize corporate project management and tracking processes to manage core (small) capital and facilities projects within the approved scope, time and funding
• Provide the long and short-term strategic vision, plan and direction for the department
• Ensure effective use of designs, material, equipment and personnel throughout operations
• Ensure compliance with cGMP guidelines and with all applicable company, local country, and local EH&S regulations, guidelines and policies
• Identify technical expertise and provide guidance on building and power related and energy management systems, infrastructure, building management technology systems
• Prepare engineering standards for the site needs
• Create presentations and prepare financial analyses as required to support energy reduction programs
• Negotiate and administer facility engineering services, materials and equipment contracts as appropriate
• Participate in the development and implementation of facility engineering technology and automation solutions to increase ecological sustainability and operational efficiency
• Ensure for the effective interface between Engineering, Security and EH&S resources and for the planning of emergency response and business continuity process
• Guide departmental operations and personnel in accordance with company philosophies by way of performance reviews, training and development programs, setting and tracking goals and objectives, and promoting fiscal responsibility
• Build and maintain strong and diverse relationships across the organization, including key client groups, peers, senior management, corporate and subordinates while providing the long and short-range strategy and direction for the department
• Ensure calibration, maintenance, designs, drawings, and other documents meet schedule and cGMP requirements
• Ensure that equipment purchase and facilities modifications are conducted with appropriate User Requirements Specifications and industry standard practices
  
  

Candidate Requirement

• 15+ years Engineering and Maintenance experience in pharmaceutical industry
• 5+ years of Capital Project Management experience in managing and executing capital projects and very good understanding of Project Management Processes
• BS in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical engineering
• Good use of the English language to be able to communicate with corporate groups and external agencies
• Proven track record of working in a Matrix Environment
• Ability to apply fundamental engineering principals to resolve issues relating to processing equipment, scale, technology transfer and related changes
• Working knowledge of applicable regulatory standards (FDA, OSHA, CFR, local country, etc) and particularly good understanding in cGMP requirements and Validation processes
• Must be able to prioritize critical versus non-critical issues, and communicate to management and team leaders in clear, concise and timely manner
• Ability to establish credibility and trust amongst all levels of the organization
• Act at high integrity and influence decisions impacting the performance of the site
• Ability to work under tight timelines and be able to motivate direct reports to deliver expected results
