Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, other technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4 years of experience in software development and object-oriented programming, with experience in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C++, Python).
• 3 years of experience in development, testing, and deployment of backend services, APIs, or full stack web applications.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in applying AI/ML in test automation or data analytics use cases.
• Experience in developing infrastructure and tools to streamline and scale operational workflow.
• Experience in developing back-end services or full stack applications in a highly collaborative environment.
• Understanding of complex device ecosystems and products such as Android and Pixel.
• Ability to proactively anticipate and resolve challenges and obstacles, navigate technical and product issues, and deal with ambiguity.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world’s most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop a suite of tools, such as test infrastructure, test frameworks, test environments, and other test controls, to improve test effectiveness and efficiency in security and stability tests across SoC level, firmware level, and system level testing.
• Implement Machine Learning techniques to scale test automation and improve test effectiveness.
• Support and build upstreamed engineering tests of a broad set of Pixel features.
• Work closely with Developers, Test teams, and the Technical Program Management team to identify issues with production quality and coverage, and provide solutions of improvement through development and test practices and processes.
• Uphold engineering best practices (e.g., functional testing, performance testing, instrumentation, experiments, etc.).
