If so, you probably should consider joining Microsoft’s Maps and Geospatial Services team. We are a team of engineers, data scientists, map makers, 3D specialists, and geospatial enthusiasts with the mission to bring advanced geospatial services to the masses.

Our products and services include Azure Maps and Bing Maps and provide delightful experiences in many Microsoft products such as Excel, PowerBI, Flight Simulator, and HoloLens.

Microsoft Azure Maps and Geospatial Team is looking for a talented software engineer with industry experience and skills such as large-scale cloud computing, AI, full-stack development, front-end engineering, and large enterprise software expertise.

Responsibilities

As a senior technical leader in Azure Maps, you will be responsible for building world-class Maps and Geolocation services and products. You will participate in designs, code reviews, product reviews, and mentor junior members of the organization.

You will demonstrate engineering excellence and curiosity to dive deep while solving challenging problems. Your passion for customers and their needs will shine through as you build delightful experiences.

In addition to the day-to-day function of the job that involves building an innovative solution, you will also:
  • Work closely with customers and our Program Management team.
  • Analyze and make decisions based on complex and ambiguous data points.
  • Through hands-on contributions, help define where we should invest in.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar engineering/software/services experience
  • 7+ years of experience as a software engineer
  • 2+ years of experince designing large-scale enterprise software
  • Passionate about writing quality code and proficientin at least one programing language such as C#, C++, Java, JavaScript, GO
  • Demonstrable history of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong collaborative and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience building a substantial Cloud-Native Application is a huge plus.
  • An understanding of Azure services such as Azure KeyVault, Azure CosmosDB, Azure Service Fabric, Azure Service Bus, Azure API Management, Azure Traffic Manager, Azure Front Door, and Azure Load Balancer is desirable.
  • Any full-stack or front-end development experince is highly desirable.
