Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience as a facilities/operations manager or engineer leading technical teams.
• Experience managing facilities portfolio.
• Experience in site-level data center or facility management.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• 8 years of experience in top-quarterly performance in prior roles, with increasing levels of responsibility and independence.
• Experience managing a team of various technical resources.
• Experience in change management and organizational development and developing people, motivating, and inspiring others beyond the immediate team.
• Experience in the area of mission critical infrastructure operations and in the areas of management, leadership, and organizational development.
• Knowledge in one or more of the following: IT computer/networking and large scale electrical/cooling data center infrastructure.
  
  

About The Job

As a Senior Regional Manager of Data Centers in APAC, you will lead large, geographically-distributed teams of talented electrical and HVAC Technicians, Plant Engineers, Operations Managers, and Program Managers who are collectively responsible for the technical health and efficiency of Google’s Data Centers, the largest cloud computer in the world. In addition, you will use technical depth, management expertise, and leadership to develop and guide multiple Operations teams within a large geographic region.

In this role, you will gain extensive knowledge of leading through change and demonstrable experience in setting and delivering strategies in an ever-changing environment. You’ll also lead Managers and manage the team’s performance and well-being. In addition, you will manage the team’s execution against key performance indicators (KPIs), the career development of its constituents, its use of existing systems, and its cooperative participation in defining systems and processes.

The Data Center team designs and operates some of the most sophisticated electrical and HVAC systems in the world. We are a diverse, upbeat, creative, team-oriented group of engineers committed to building and operating powerful data centers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategy and ongoing operation of Google’s portfolio of data centers within the region.
• Be the advocate for Google’s data centers in the region by liaising with local governments and driving community engagement.
• Build and integrating diverse teams that can adapt and thrive within complexity and adapt to change.
• Lead the large-scale electrical and cooling infrastructure operations of the data center campuses within the region, including deployment and decommissioning of computing and network systems.
• Manage budget planning, resource planning, organizational development, maintenance, availability, efficiency, safety and continuous improvement.
