Reporting Line: Operations Manager

Responsible for ensuring manufactured products and raw materials meet the defined standards of quality, reliability, and performance.

Leadership:

Team Leader/Manager, responsible for the team, its development and performance. Live a positive management culture and drive employee engagement. Own responsibility for direct reports. Lead, coach and develop team as well as reach out to other functional teams with leadership and experience.

Operational Tasks:

  • Enforce group standards for health and safety among his/her team.
  • Implement quality procedures, standards, and specifications for the own manufactured products based on Technical Development guidance.
  • Implement quality procedures to ensure raw materials from external suppliers meet quality requirements.
  • Implement test methods if necessary and ensure the test equipment is maintained and calibrated.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes are in compliance with local, international and company standards of production.
  • Approve compliant products and reject defective ones.
  • Maintain proper records of quality test, procedures and standards.
  • Collect, compile, and analyze relevant quality statistical data to obtain information regarding quality performance and assurance.
  • Implement methods and systems for quality assurance according to group and international standards (ISO, DNV GL…).
  • Monitor product manufacturing processes to identify deviations from quality policies.
  • Provide support in non-conformance management/investigation.
  • Provide support to manufacturing when deviations are identified.
  • Review existing process and product specification to identify the need for improvement or upgrade.
  • Understand and follow all quality initiatives and processes for international standards (ISO, DNV GL…), procedures and process.
  • Supervise the team to ensure they perform their duties in line with established quality procedures.

Education: Education & training required

plus additional time-extensive job-related training including formal examination (e.g. PhD, BS - MS, MBA)

  • Degree in Chemistry
  • Additional education such as OSHAS, NiBOSH…

Working Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years working in a chemical related industry.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in quality control lab in a related industry at a manager level.
  • Working experience with ISO and DNV GL standards.

Specific skills related to the role:

  • Good EHS knowledge including Responsible Care required.
  • General knowledge on process technologies required. Specific process knowledge of the site is an advantage but not required.
  • General knowledge in Quality Management Systems.

Industry and/or Country specific requirements:

  • Working knowledge of the construction chemicals industry an advantage

IT skills:

  • Computer literate – SAP, Microsoft Office (advanced level)

Language skills (level):

  • English (Fluent).
  • Hokkien (Taiwanese)
  • Mandarin (Optional)
