Job Description Summary

The Project Director is responsible for project delivery, profit & loss accountability, and customer satisfaction through management of project related activities and resources. Accountable for the successful execution of Gas Power projects.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities
  • Responsible for direct or indirect leadership and/or management of project resources along with direct ownership on specific projects.
  • Play a key role in the development of a business plan. Is involved in discussions with other disciplines about future developments and consequences for the projects.
  • Presents to top leadership in the business solutions on technical discipline and business solutions.
  • Works with cross business teams. Engages in complex long-term processes with important clients.
  • Lead Project Managers and actively drive project P&L incl. the associated risk provision within the contractual frame, in order to exceed/meet the cost, schedule, quality & Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) targets.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, laws & regulations.
  • Protect/enhance contribution margin.
  • Ensure cash collections / factoring consent for customer contracts.
  • Manage customers and partners, and actively develop the required relationship to ease communication and support outcome.
  • Exceed customer expectations, enhance customer relationships and assure business credibility.
  • Ensure consistent Customer experience.
  • Build and train regional teams with domain expertise, including career development and functional opportunities.
  • Lead cross functional prioritization of contract requirements.
  • Drive process adherence and team coordination between functions.
  • Ensure rigorous project review rhythm and achievement of key project milestones.
  • Ensure consistent application of tools and processes applicable to the scope of projects being executed.
  • Ensure contractual revenue recognition terms are met and paced to business.
  • Exceed/meet operations targets.
  • Develop, monitor and implement standard OTR processes.
  • Manage third party providers to execute projects, based on individual project specifications.
  • Resolve any issues including lack of adherence to contracts, project quality or timeline issues.
  • Seek and coordinate support of any company asset and personnel to drive outcome.
  • Demonstrate strategic and tactical knowledge to deliver excellence and drive continuous improvement and compliance
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a local or internationally recognized university;
  • At least 10 years’ experience in leading the execution of complex infrastructure projects in challenging environments;
  • Extensive experience in negotiation of complex contracts and sound commercial understanding of project feasibilities, market differentiators and the power business generally;
  • Experience in managing large EPC projects within Power;
  • Experience of Health and Safety leadership in challenging project environments;
  • Negotiation experience of complex construction contracts;
  • Excellent communication skills when managing medium to large teams as well as engaging with senior management
