VanMoof is looking for a People Lead APAC as part of the global People Team. This role will support our management (and their teams) in providing strategic business partnerships and developing people-related solutions to support VanMoof’s next growth phase in international expansion. As VanMoof grows, our People Team has an essential role in collaborating with our (senior) leaders to design and deliver people-related programs, coaching, and shaping the employee experience of our team members around the globe. In this People Lead role, you will coach and guide our leadership team in APAC (100-150 employees) on all people related topics in the employee life cycle. You will also define and implement the people roadmap for APAC and design, own and execute projects related to recruitment, culture, org design, engagement, talent development, compensation & benefits etc.

This role is an excellent opportunity for an inventive and experienced HR leader who wants to roll up their sleeves to design and execute a full range of people topics from high-level strategy to program design and real hands-on problem-solving/execution. You will be fostering our culture, helping us overcome the challenges that come with rapid scaling, and building and leading a fantastic regional People team.

You will be overseeing the entire people function for APAC (Taiwan HQs and our Brand Store in Japan) and directly leading our recruiters, people ops specialists and office administrators (with tight lines to the global team). This role reports directly to the Chief People Officer based in Europe.

What you’ll do:
  • Together with the CPO, you will determine, implement, and execute (part of) the people strategy and roadmap for APAC, and ensure alignment with VanMoof’s business objectives.
  • You will ensure cutting edge people support to enable the attraction, development, and retention of top talent. This can be on all aspects of people, including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, DEI, compensation & benefits, organizational design, and talent development.
  • You will act as a primary driver (design & execution) for cyclical programs, including, but not limited to, annual salary reviews, headcount planning, talent review and promotions.
  • You will be a leader and advocate for our company culture, ensuring our mission and values are understood and implemented.
  • You will lead the recruitment team and deliver on the hiring needs of team APAC, in close alignment with the global recruitment team.
  • You will recommend, develop, and implement new People Ops processes (automation first) as required to grow the business and deliver on a great employee experience in close alignment with the global people operations team. Own People Ops for APAC, including drafting people policies, compliance, and managing internal (people) systems.
  • You will set quarterly goals (OKRs) for the APAC People Team in alignment with the company & people strategy and the global people team.
What you’ll bring:
  • You have 5-10+ years of strategic HR Business Partnering and/or People Leadership.
  • Prior experience scaling teams and organizations internationally (ideally from 100 people to 500).
  • You have extensive experience in all facets of HR – designing people programs and executing them. Think of recruitment, comp & ben, talent development, workforce planning, DEI, people operations etc.
  • You have a proven track record of building highly effective and impact-driven HR teams (a minimum of 3 years exp. in managing a team).
  • You can demonstrate business acumen and a strong voice at the leadership level, advocating for people solutions that align with business goals.
  • You have experience in strategic planning and can implement it into an effective, long-term scalable plan and action measures (clear roadmaps).
  • You have experience working with global and local people team structures.
  • You have an innovative HR vision to make connections between business outcomes and people initiatives.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to create, communicate and direct a team to achieve VanMoof’s goals.
  • You have demonstrated achievements in coaching, influencing and problem-solving.
  • You know legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Business fluency/native command of English and Mandarin.
  • You currently live in Taiwan.
Extremely nice to have:
  • Experience with ATS systems and HR systems like BambooHR, CultureAmp.
  • Experience in automation of workflows and being tech-savvy (know where we can optimize for efficiencies).
