The Role

Working as a Package & Material Simulation Engineer based in Zhubei, you will:

• Perform thermal simulations and measurements of IC Packages.
• Simulation of warpage and stress of IC packages under various test conditions.
• Characterizing IC packages under various environmental and reliability testing conditions, such as mechanical loading, thermal and moisture stressing, etc.
• Developing methodologies of automating FEM model generation.
• Characterizing key packaging materials, such as solders, polymers, etc.
• Developing characterization methodologies for IC packages and related materials, including setting up equipment and building proper fixtures for the test.
• Generate analyses reports for internal and external customers with emphasis on design/simulation issues and proposed fixes while meeting tight schedules and strict cost targets.

What We Are Looking For?

• Master’s/PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Materials Science, Physics or related fields.
• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in Semiconductor Industry.
• Proficient with Finite Element Modeling (FEM) tools such as ANSYS
• Strong familiarity with various types of IC packaging methods and assembly processes including die attach, molding, mold ejection and trim / form
• Thorough understanding of typical loading / testing conditions and the corresponding failure modes for IC packages.
• Experience with Material Characterization & Modelling (e.g., viscoelastic / creep, cohesive zone and failure models) and 3D CAD Modeling tools will be an advantage.
• Good analytical and project management skills.
• Excellent communications, teamwork, and presentation skills.
• Self-starter, highly motivated and committed to product success.
• Able to work flexible hours. Occasional domestic/international travels may be needed.
