- 3 years of experience with troubleshooting test failures and systems integration, with hardware systems.
- 2 years of experience leading testing integration and verification functions with hardware product development processes.
- Experience with data center infrastructure and processes including logistics, operations, and operational software (DCIM).
- Experience leading projects and/or programs consisting of integration and verification functions.
- Experience troubleshooting functional and integration test failures that impact multiple engineering disciplines.
- Experience providing engineering support to operations teams in a factory, industrial site, or a test environment.
- Understanding of the overall systems integration process, with the ability to put comprehensive test procedures in place.
- Ability to effectively work with and communicate with all levels of management and individual contributors on the team.

The Hardware Testing Engineering team ensures that this cutting-edge equipment is reliable. In the R&D lab, you design test equipment for prototypes of our machinery and develop the protocols used to scale these tests for the entire global team. Working closely with design engineers, you give input on designs to improve our hardware until you’re sure it meets Google’s standards of quality and reliability.
The Hardware Acceptance Testing (HAT) team’s mission is to perform product level acceptance testing of a wide array of hardware by evaluating products intended for Google data centers against requirements that span safety, security, serviceability, and reliability.

Responsibilities
- Design detailed, repeatable test procedures that validate cross-functional requirements and ensure new products can be integrated seamlessly into Google data centers and data center software systems.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to set up test environments in labs and production data centers. Partner with cross-functional teams to bring useful engineering insights to new product development efforts.
- Develop and publish detailed test reports from test data sets that bring useful insights to cross-functional engineering leadership teams. Contribute to standardization and automation of team testing and reporting processes.
- Plan and execute tests to verify and validate functional and system level requirements while maintaining detailed test execution logs and data sets.
- Leverage technical expertise to provide suggested solutions to test failures and in-service production issues. Debug and root cause test failures and in-service production issues.
