Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience working with technical product development teams
  • 7 years of experience in sourcing, supply chain management, including negotiating agreements, and supplier development
  • 5 years of experience leading cross-functional teams or initiatives

Preferred qualifications:
  • MBA or Master’s degree in a technical or engineering field
  • 10 years of experience in engineering, technical program management or strategic sourcing
  • Experience with compute, storage, networking or data center infrastructure (including rack integration)
  • Global leadership and analytical skills to influence internally and externally

About The Job

You will be responsible for managing one of Google’s large contract manufacturing / supplier engagements and own all commercial aspects of the relationship. You will be the “go to” person globally for escalations and managing performance of this supplier including managing executive relationships and negotiations with the supplier.

You’ll be a part of developing and executing Google’s sourcing strategy for various aspects of compute, storage and networking, which help to power all of Google’s services. You will be expected to lead and add value to large cross-functional projects, as well as understand and resolve complex supply chain issues and risks. You will be a key part of an end-to-end technical supply chain team that drives continuous improvement and ensures operational excellence in support of Google’s rapid growth

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in the APAC region by owning all aspects of the supplier contracts, pricing, escalation and performance management. Drive supplier accountability for manufacturing investments, resources, and commitments to Google supply chain programs and deliverables
  • Partner closely with regional HW and SW engineers to develop supplier strategies aligned with Google product and technology roadmaps
  • Define cost drivers, develop and negotiate cost models and establish should cost analysis. Lead request for proposal, agreements and the supplier selections process
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance in alignment with technology, cost, quality, and delivery drivers
  • Mentor junior team members in the APAC region and provide an example of leadership and commercial management
