Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 7 years of experience in system software development in C/C++
• 5 years of experience with technical leadership and people management
• Experience with software engineering practices, including release management, test automation, and quality assurance
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related field
• Experience in embedded systems and kernel development
• Familiarity with GPUs
• Excellent technical leadership skills and the ability to understand software stack architectures that integrate into the low level hardware

Our team performs research, design, and development for the systems software and networking technologies that power products containing Graphics Processing Units, Video Transcoders, and various combination of those. We primarily work on solutions to help accelerate specific workloads in the areas of ML, Video transcoding, and Gaming pertaining to the systems software needed for those platforms. Our execution covers the areas of Systems Software Integration and Deployment to the Google Data Center, Resource Management, Security, Virtualization, and finally Platform Telemetry, Monitoring, and Control.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team responsible for developing software on our GPU-based systems that power Google Cloud’s compute needs.
• Drive all aspects of development, including requirements definition, design, implementation, integration, test, release, monitoring, and sustaining.
• Provide management oversight for GPU-based high performance computing platforms, ensuring robust planning, scheduling, and staffing for various projects in our roadmap.
• Assume technical leadership role for the derivative GPU platforms, working diligently across the Platforms organization, and our partners in Google Cloud and Data Center Software teams to ensure that requirements are captured and technical solutions identified for them in a timely manner.
• Help transform our vendor engagement model and contribute to the hiring and ramp-up of engineers who will help execute our projects in a sub-linear staffing model.
