Job Overview

The Engineering Solutions Department (ES) in Taiwan have a key role in the design and development of new products that aligns with the overall corporate strategy of SHL. The Senior Electronics Engineer is a dedicated and experienced person with a strong technical background on electronic design and its integration within multi-disciplinary systems. A team player that values cooperating with people from different knowledge fields.

Main responsibilities

  • Responsible for implementing electronic design solutions for medical devices that meet regulatory and industrial design requirements
  • Report and facilitate information and your electrical design expertise during all phases of a product to the project manager or system engineer
  • Select appropriate components and define the electrical architecture of a product
  • Bring your design to life, from creating schematics and layout, to coordinating manufacturing activities and to debugging and testing
  • Contribute the electrical design expertise to all phases of product development life cycle in a multidisciplinary team

• Responsible for project deliverables, documentation, and quality as well as reporting to relevant stakeholders as assigned

• Establish and maintain an appropriate level of communication with the team on technical aspects and accomplish all necessary tasks on time

• Cooperate and coordinate activities with external electronics suppliers and development partners

• Participate in risk assessments and design reviews

  • • Supervise technicians and junior engineers, provided training and instruction whenever necessary

Required Skills & Qualification

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant firmware development experience in product design and development.
  • Firmware development experience with ARM Cortex M series MCU.
  • Familiar with MCU peripherals communication: UART/SPI/I2C.
  • Familiar with C/C++ programming, others like C#/Python is an asset.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas is an asset: connectivity via BLE or LTE, motor control, security by design, Https/MQTT/TLS communication.
