JR46191 Director of EHS, Micron Taiwan

As the Director of EHS, Micron Taiwan EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) Director based in Taiwan, you will be responsible for the vision and strategy of Micron Taiwan EHS management systems. This role is responsible for optimizing and developing business processes to ensure regulatory compliance, sustainable operations, and continuous improvement. The Director of EHS, Micron Taiwan is also responsible for developing the short- and long-term strategic initiatives to ensure Micron Taiwan’s leadership in the discipline of EHS management and partner with Global Sustainability to achieve Micron Sustainability Roadmap.

This position will report directly to Corporate VP and head of Micron Taiwan.

Responsibilities

Drive global alignment of strategic direction and activities.

  • Partner across OMT (One Mega Taiwan) leadership team and EHS network (both Frontend and Backend). including metrics, processes, resources, etc. to ensure best practice.
  • Actively collaborate with leadership team and program stakeholders to set Environmental Sustainability goals in alignment with Micron’s strategic direction & close gap towards best-in-class performance.
  • Establish environmental, health, and safety standards and roadmaps, align with Micron global practice.
  • Responsible for sustaining and improving formal Process Safety Management standards across the fab network.
  • Ensure Micron Environmental Compliance and ISO 14000 Certification
  • Co-work with key stakeholders to maintain effective relationships with external regulators, government agency, industry partners, and local communities.
  • Ensure compliance with existing laws, regulations, licenses, permits, and ordinances pertaining to environmental performance and safety and health concerns.
  • Assess and identify opportunities to reduce and prevent risk – BCP coordination Work closely with Risk Management team for Loss Prevention and Protection and support periodic audit review in the Region.

Deliver Tactical Support and Program Management

  • Review engineering methods and standards with Production, Fabs, Facilities, to ensure environmental compliance and identify potential roadblocks early and develop resolution plans.
  • Participate with external negotiated rule makings to shape regulatory development and drive resolution to meet operational objectives.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with key stakeholders (i.e., HR, Brand, Corporate Communications, Legal, Bus), and effectively manage meeting structure to ensure achievement of required outcomes .
  • Maintain current knowledge of specific requirements imposed by Government agencies through reading of the statues, regulations, licenses, and permits.

Strengthen Environmental Sustainability

  • Partner closely with cross-functional key stakeholders to drive continuous improvement of environmental sustainability gain/capex / mfg variable cost tracking platform to drive higher accuracies and efficiencies.
  • Propose and implement strategies to address various environmental concerns including energy use, conservation, reduction of pollution, recycling, building and facility design, and general education on sustainability.
  • Evaluate efficacy of sustainability programs; recommends and implements improvements as necessary.
  • Partner with Global Sustainability to achieve Micron Sustainability Roadmap.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Bilingual (Mandarin and English) is preferred.
  • 10+ years of Health, Safety, and Environmental experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, or related field.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and influence stakeholders across all levels of organization.
  • Recognized expert in regulatory compliance, with specific experience in Taiwan.
  • Demonstrated record of completing goals and solving difficult problems with a true senior leader approach (e.g., builds a disciplined environment, knows when to get in the details vs. delegate).
  • Safety Practitioner (GSP) designation is helpful
  • CSP or CIH preferred
