The Device Partner Sales (DPS) team, who build and sell Intelligent Edge Device and Intelligent Cloud solutions together with our partners, plays a critical role in achieving this mission. Responsibilities

Drive Microsoft platform & technology adoption with partners:
  • The role owns building modern & competitive device portfolio by best leveraging original equipment manufacturers’ (OEM partners) R&D capability hence, secure and increase market share in each price tier and segmentation.
  • Leverage excellent technical sales skills to drive essential design-wins of device and solutions in areas of Microsoft DPS prioritizes : Modern life & gaming for consumers, modern workplace for business customers, and Data & AI to enhance partner’s business model.
  • Also takes responsibility to find new business opportunities where we can generate Azure Cloud consumption by incubating and building IoT and AI solutions in partnership with strategic OEM partners’ related divisions.
  • You will closely collaborate with internal stakeholders, for instance, Windows engineering team, Portfolio Solution & Marketing team, IoT, and Sales in region or country to best leverage our resources and support partner effectively.
  • Act as a trusted advisor of senior managers and executives across partners’ organizations. Proactively inform on Microsoft platform and required technologies readiness (Windows operating system, IoT platform, and AI technology), suggest mitigation plans for engineering challenges with the analysis of pros and cons, and orchestrate complicated issues leading cross-functional teams.
  • Represent partner as an internal advocate from technical or business needs and as technical liaison to internal sales, product, marketing, or channel organizations
  • Deliver excellent cross-group collaboration work and teamwork across the Global ATS Technical Sales teams coordinated with the applicable account teams
  • Keep up to date with trends and competitive insights, and transfer those early signals into planning for partner’s mid-longer term investment.

Enhance Core PC business (40%)
  • Deliever modern and highly secured Windows PC across Consumer, Commercial and Education market.
  • Drive silicon diversity working with chipset partners and OEM, and provide users with the optimal option of the right platform at the right price point.

Transfer device sales to subscription sales (30%)
  • Build a competitive device portfolio that can accelerate Microsoft services attached sales motion - Microsoft 365, Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft Teams.
  • Best leverage partner’s R&D capability and sales & marketing uniqueness to create a new addressable market - for instance, Always connected PC through Telco channels with a total package of solution (device+productivity apps+data + IT management service)

Incubate IoT/AI solutions that can generate Azure Consumption Revenue (30%)
  • Transfer new market signal and opportunity into a proposal which articulates the most relevant scenario that partners can leverage theirs exist device portfolio & solutions.
Infuse Microsoft AI (voice, vision, search, and language) and machine learning capability to build an industry or usage customized device and solution.

Qualifications

Experiences Required: Education, Key Experiences, Skills and Knowledge:
  • The ideal candidate should possess a combination of technical acumen, business insight and influence skills to lead design-in, portfolio management and technical engagements
  • Candidates should fuse the talents of HW and SW product planning, device sales and cross-functional leader to drive our technical and early business development efforts
  • Have OEM/ODM, silicon and device partner ecosystem experience; familiarity with IoT, AI technologies a plus
  • Experience working deeply with partners, great interpersonal and communications skills; ability to define a vision, set goals, objectives and work across virtual teams and across Microsoft organizations to achieve specific, well-defined outcomes
  • Candidate should possess the ability to understand product features and benefits from technical requirements perspective while balancing business benefits and trade-offs
  • Strategically focused - demonstrated ability to anticipate risk/opportunity, then identifies and evangelizes opportunities and priorities for future action - while being able to focus on achieving concrete results individually or through partner execution
  • Understands how to get things done, demonstrates organization agility to overcome obstacles and achieve objectives within and across groups
  • Customer-focused, responsive and action-oriented to meet customer needs while maintaining a positive, professional image of Microsoft
  • Ideal candidates will have a technical degree (e.g. electrical engineering or computer science) and business degree (e.g. MBA) or equivalent on the job experience
  • Passion for technology and Microsoft products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication ability with requisite interpersonal skills to partner, collaborate and build relationships with partner accounts, account/segment marketing teams and Microsoft product/marketing groups.
  • Fluent English and Chinese are required; Korean speaking capability a plus.
  • This position requires domestic and international travel.
