About The Role

Explore the trends, create CMF (color, material, and finish) concepts and CMF stories as product design inspirations. Worka closely with Industrial Designers, introduce results of CMF research such as new materials, finish treatments, etc. to Industrial Designers to realize CMF visions.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with industrial designers. Create CMF conceptual design and provide CMF stories, share the result of trend study for Industrial Designers’ reference.
• Initiate CMF research subjects such like new materials or finish treatment. Collaborate with engineering team to explore possibilities, and introduce the outcome of CMF application to industrial designers.
• Develop and visualize CMF ideas with 2D/3D renderings and provide design proposals for communicating with teams.
• Collect or create physical CMF samples, build up and maintain CMF library for team’s inspiration and implementation.
• Present CMF roadmap, work with teams and vendors to develop CMF concepts. Clearly express the vision to industrial designers and plan together to realize CMF expectations.
  

We’re looking for talents with

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Design, or related academic design equivalent.
• 3+ years experience.
• Familiar with industrial materials and the applications.
• Understanding of product design requirements.
• Knowledge of industrial production processes, such like tooling, forming, finishing processes, etc.
• Ability to transfer intangible ideas to tangible CMF concepts.
• 2D/ 3D software skills required: Photoshop, Creo, KeyShot, etc.
• Well communication skills, and be open-minded to accept challenges.
